Cheryl's love of fiddling is geniune and contagious. Fiddling is awesome fun,
and if we're not having fun then; well, not much learning will take place!
I integrate applied music theory and ear training into the learning experience,
and teach reading standard notation as an adjunct skill rather than the primary
mode of learning.
She is a member of a local contra dance band, and an active member in
Washington Old-Time Fiddlers Assoc., Washington Bluegrass Assoc.,
Blue Mountain Old Time Fiddlers, and Oregon Old Time Fiddlers Assocations.
Cheryl teaches in a patient, supportive and friendly environment.
I enjoy helping students find their own voice and sense of style within the
broader fiddle tradition. I host jam sessions for the students and help
facilitiate performance opportunties.
Cheryl teaches and enjoys doing rhythm guitar for others who are fiddling. This
skill can be great fun and come in handy!
Lessons are held at my private studio in Yakima. Beginning to lower intermediate.
